    Hello Bishal,

    I’d like to compliment you on your efforts on this theme, it is excellent!

    We are currently developing our new site offline. We ran into the problem related to the author info on the left of the post page.

    If we have a long post as many of us do these days, there is a lot of white empty space shown all the way down to the left of the post.

    Is there a way to relocate the “written by” and the date to the bottom of the post and then free up the white space by left justifing the infomation that is written?

    That is my only question. You have a wonderful theme. I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

    Hi Andy.

    In order to remove those parts which you are asking for, ie, post date and author name from the single post page then, can you try the below CSS code in the Additional CSS Box provided via the Customizer Options and check:-

    .single #primary .post .entry-meta {
    	display: none;
    }
    .single #primary .post .entry-content {
    	width: 100%;
    	max-width: 100%;
    }

    And for the later, ie, move that part to the bottom is not possible. However, you can try the below CSS code in the Additional CSS Box provided via the Customizer Options to place it at the top:-

    .single #primary .post .entry-meta {
    	width: 100%;
    	max-width: 100%;
    	float: none;
    }
    .single #primary .entry-meta .byline, .single #primary .entry-meta .posted-on, .single #primary .entry-meta .comments-link {
    	display: inline-block;
    	padding: 0 10px;
    }
    .single #primary .post .entry-content {
    	width: 100%;
    	max-width: 100%;
    }

    If you like the theme and appreciate the work put on the theme, then, you can help by rating this theme through this link here: https://wordpress.org/support/view/theme-reviews/the-newsmag

    Hi Bishal,

    Thank you for your help. The first part of the code worked fine.

    The second longer css code unfortunately did not work.

    We also noticed something interesting. When making a post and selecting
    “video” as the format and then publishing the post, the video shows twice
    on the post?? “Standard” get us the select image and then video below.
    Is there a fix for this problem? We don’t need to show the selected image
    in the post all the time because the new site will be more video than
    pictures.

    Although we used a plugin to remove the date, author and comments icon
    because the home page looked too busy with it, if you have a specific
    code for removing this I would appreciate it. I can hard code it. Just
    let me know where it goes. I don’t like to use plugins!

    Many thanks for your help.

    Kind regards,
    Andy

    We found another slight problem, nothing serious.

    Breaking News, when enabled and viewed on a mobile the text is not formated properly especially if it’s a longer title five or six words.

    Is it possible to add a news ticker below the menu? Is there a code for that?

    We just need a little flexibility to place what we need on the home page because this is a news website.

    I persnally appreciate your cooperation and I will also be leaving feedback once we have completed the changes.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy.

    For the second CSS code, it will display those in top of the post content. So, can you check and confirm on that? And I could not get properly on the video issue. Are you asking to not display the video or featured images in the single post page of your site? And for removing the post metas from the widgets, you can try the below CSS code in the Additional CSS Box provided via the Customizer Options and check:-

    .widget .entry-meta {
    	display: none;
    }

    And for moving the breaking news section below the menu, can you create a child theme and then duplicate the file header.php. Here, in this file, you can find the code of:

    <?php if (get_theme_mod('the_newsmag_breaking_news', 0) == 1) : ?>
    	<div class="breaking-news">
    		<div class="inner-wrap">
    			<?php the_newsmag_breaking_news(); ?>
    		</div>
    	</div>
    <?php endif; ?>

    and move that just above the below code and check:-
    </header><!-- #masthead -->

    Thanks.

    Hi Bishal,

    I will try to make this simple…

    I will not use breaking new in the template

    I want to use a news ticker shown here…

    PJ News Ticker

    I want to place it below the menu and above the slider/grid. I tried with a shortcode but it doesn’t work.

    Regarding Post Format, I will take some screen pictures and send you a link here shortly.

    Ok, here is the situation with the video post…

    In the single post Format > select Video > Publish or Preview Post, you will see the video is duplicated.
    There should be only one video? Right?

    Please have a look here: http://itmedia.ws/newsmag/

    Hi Andy,

    Regarding that plugin as widget, you can try the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/ available via the WordPress plugin directory to add the shortcode via this in Content Top Sidebar and check? And regarding the second issue, it is supposed to be like that. However, if you do not want to display the top one video in the single post page then, can you try the below CSS code in the Additional CSS Box provided via the Customizer Options and check:-

    .single .format-video .fitvids-video {
    	display: none;
    }

    Hope you are clear on these.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Bishal,

    The css works fine and so does the tiny mce plugin.

    But, a little strange problem after installing the tinny mce
    The is a blue line under the breaking news ticker.
    I have update this link, please have a look: http://itmedia.ws/newsmag/

    Need to remove that and less space between menu and breaking new and less
    space between breaking and slider/grid.

    Everything else is great. When the site is online next week, I will leave
    great feedback and a link to the website.

    Many thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

    That line is provided via default within the theme. However, can you try the below CSS code in the Additional CSS Box provided via the Customizer Options and check:-

    .content-top-sidebar-area {
    	border-bottom: 0;
    }
    .content-top-sidebar-area, .content-bottom-sidebar-area {
    	padding: 5px 0;
    }
    .content-top-sidebar-area .widget, .content-bottom-sidebar-area .widget {
    	margin: 0;
    }

    Thanks.

    Hi Bishal,

    The line is now gone thanks. But, the space is uneven.

    I did one more final update with a picture, have a look here: http://itmedia.ws/newsmag/

    Let me know how to change this please and then it’s finished.

    I appreciate all your help.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Andy.

    Can you provide me the link to your site so that I could have a better look on this issue? I asked it since that plugin may have added some of the CSS code of margin to be like that for your site, since via the theme, I have already provided the required CSS code to make them equal.

    Thanks.

    Hi, the site is offline not online. I also know this is related to padding abd I tried to remove it in the css but it didn’t work.

    Using the “inspector” on firefox browser, the space shows the following:
    .site-content {
    background: #fff;
    padding: 30px 0 30px;
    }
    *, *::before, *::after {
    box-sizing: inherit;
    }

    I removed changed padding to 0px 0 0px but this did not change the space.

    Hi Andy.

    Have you added the modified code of yours in the Additional CSS Box and checked? Here, below I have modified the same. So, can you try it in the Additional CSS Box and check:-

    .site-content {
    	padding: 0 0 30px;
    }

    Also, if it does not work then can you let me know when the site is live so that I could have the better look on this issue?

    Note: Please do not edit the theme code on your own since it will get wiped out in the theme update. Instead, you can use the child theme for customizing the theme on your own. You can find the tutorial on creating the child theme here: https://napitwptech.com/tutorial/wordpress-development/tutorial-creating-wordpress-child-theme/.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    It’s working now.

    Although other plugins are a plugin such as a video slider….

    Slider – Video Slider, Slider Carousel & Timeline

    and

    Smart Slider 3

    When the page layout is with right side widget and even
    using it on a post with visual composer, it does work properly.

    Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know. The flexibility is limited.
